Wie uns Gaile Gray soeben per eMail mitteilte, wurde das Beta Weekend im Februar auf Freitag, den <b>18.2.2005</b>, verschoben. Es beginnt, in unserer Zeitzone, um 9 Uhr morgens. Als Ausgleich für diese Verspätung gibt es aber endlich wieder eine <b>neue Region</b> der Guild Wars Welt zu sehen! Es handelt sich dabei um das Gebiet Ascalon, in dem Zustand, in dem es vor der Invasion der bösartigen Katzenrasse der Charr war.<br />
Leider werden aber nicht so viele Spieler teilnehmen können, wie an den bisherigen Events: Es wird keine großflächige Verteilung von Keys über Fileplanet&Co oder Spielemagazine geben, hauptsächlich stellt dieses Beta Weekend ein Geschenk für die Leute dar, die Guild Wars vorbestellt haben. Schaut aber in nächster Zeit ab und an mal bei uns vorbei - <b>vielleicht haben wir ja etwas für euch ;)</b>. <br />

Außerdem wurde die Deadline für den Guild Emblem Contest verschoben - ihr könnt diese nun bis zum 17. Februar per Post einschicken, die Gewinner werden am 4. März bekannt gegeben.<br />

Im Folgenden nun der relevante Teil der Original eMail von Gaile:<br />
<blockquote><div class="quote">"I wanted to drop you a line to give you a Guild Wars update. First of all, we have a change in the date of the February Beta Weekend Event. The event will begin at approximately 12:01 a.m. PST on Friday, February 18th. We know this change may result in concern on the part of your site visitors, but with this change of date, we have an opportunity to present something totally fresh to the BWE participants: A new region of Tyria. We know that the chance to see, explore and play in this new region will answer a lot of the feedback we've been receiving, both about content and the gameplay experience. And as always, we will look forward to fan feedback on the new region in the form of comments, suggestions, and bug reports. <br />

So, what's cool about this new area? You get to see Ascalon as it existed before it was decimated by the Charr. You get to learn more about the backgrounds of characters who will play important roles in the storyline. And the region is very free-form, with a lot to explore and a large number of quests in which to participate. In this region, the player has the option to race forward quickly to get to the main story, or to stay and linger, making friends with villagers and discovering lots of hidden content. We're excited about this new region and can't wait for everyone to see it!<br />

More news: We've had a lot of entries in the Guild Wars Guild Emblem Contest. In response to concerns about the time needed to get mail to our offices here in Bellevue, Washington, we want to extend the contest deadline to the eve of the upcoming Beta Weekend Event. Therefore, entries will be accepted until February 17th and winners will be announced by March 4th. We think this will offer even more people the opportunity to participate, and will provide you more time to spread the word about this exciting contest."</div></blockquote> </span></div>
